'Sharing Our Scouting' is a series of training and development sessions to equip groups with additional skills and resources to support their local Scouting. The sessions will take place in Axe District on Saturday 21 January and Saturday 11 February as part of our commitment to support existing groups gain the appropriate skills to recruit and retain new adult volunteers. We recommend groups ensure they are represented at each session to gain the most benefit.
The sessions are being run by Avon County and are a good mix of interactive presentations, group work and topical discussions. There are sessions suitable for Group Scout Leaders, Group Executive members, Sectional Leaders and Assistant Sectional Leaders. Young Leaders and Network members are welcome to come along too. Once all the sessions are complete (with the minimum requirements from your group, see each session) County will send you a resource box containing an HQ sign, vacancy board and programme material as a way to say thank you for participating in the Sharing our Scouting project.
Whether you want to develop your Group or sustain what you're doing it is good to evaluate where you are now, what else is needed or what could e done differently. This session is designed to equip Groups with the tools to do this.
Minimum attendance for this session to be eligible for the resource box: GSL, Group Chair, Section Leader (or assistant) from each section in your group
