Description

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

This workshop provides information and resources to help you organise your child's paperwork and coordinate your child's appointments and services through using a "Family File" (provided on the day). It also gives an overview of how to apply for benefits such as Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Carer's Allowance. Information is given about charities that can provide funding to families with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities (SEND) including Carer's My Time grants and Family Fund. Resources will be available to view and Wakefield's Local Offer website is demonstrated to help you find out more about local services.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Parents / carers of children and young people 0-18 years with any Special Educational Needs and / or Disability, who would like help with organising their child's paperwork and applying for benefits and funding.

Please note the workshop is only available to people who pay council tax to Wakefield Council (or the child that they care for must live in the Wakefield Council district).

FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS
