West Lothian Pride 2017

The third West Lothian Pride event will be taking place on Saturday 29 July 2017.
The purpose of the event is to provide the people of West Lothian with an opportunity to celebrate and support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people within our local community.
Come along to our Pride Village at West Lothian College, Livingston to soak up the carnival atmosphere and join us for a fun filled day of marching, guest speakers and live entertainment.
The pride village will be open from 1.00pm and you can browse the information stalls and stock up all Pride essentials (flags, whistles, garlands etc) prior to the march.
Programme of Events
1:45pm Rendezvous at college entrance gates to go through pre-march safety briefing
2:00pm March commences at the college main entrance and will pass through the town centre
2:45pm March arrives back at college for dignitary speeches and raising of the Rainbow flag
3:00pm Event entertainment commences
8:00pm Event closes
This is an outdoor open air event so please dress according to the weather conditions.
Pride Village and the surrounding areas are alcohol free zones – please do not bring alcohol to the event.
The College Grounds are smoke free, please only smoke cigarettes and e-cigarettes in the designated smoking areas which are clearly signposted.
For health and safety purposes we are required to have an approximate number of attendees. Please register your attendance as this will ensure we can keep you updated with all our plans and we will have sufficient stewards and first aiders available.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
From the North, East and West
Enter Livingston off Junction 3 of the M8 Motorway. Follow the A899 (dual carriageway) for Livingston Centre (approximately 2 miles). Exit at Livingston Centre (previously Almondvale Centre). The College is signposted from the first roundabout.
From the South (either East or West on the A71)
Exit at the roundabout for Livingston onto the A899 (dual carraigeway) for Livingston Centre. Exit at the first slip road (clearly signposted as Town Centre). At the first roundabout exit left, following the College signs.
PARKING: limited parking is available at West Lothian College before 12.30pm, alternate paid parking is available in Livingston Centre. Any cars must be off the premises before 8pm as the car park barrier will be locked after this time.
There are frequent services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh to Livingston Bus Station in the town centre, just a short walk from the College.

Trains run regularly to both Livingston North and Livingston South train stations. Livingston North station is on the Edinburgh Waverley - Bathgate Line, while Livingston South station is on the Edinburgh Waverley - Glasgow Central Line. Frequent bus services operate from both stations to Livingston town centre, a short walk from the College.
