The fifth West Lothian Pride event will be taking place on Saturday 27 July 2019.

Join Us and our compere Mr Fabulous as we deliver the biggest and best West Lothian Pride


The event is FREE, but for Health and Safety reasons, all attendees are encouraged to register their attendance, this allows us to track approximate number of attendees and ensure the safety of those attending.

Registering your attendance will ensure we can keep you updated with all our plans and have sufficient stewards and first aiders available.

The purpose of the event is to provide the people of West Lothian with an opportunity to celebrate and support lesbian, gay, bi and transgender people within our local community.

Come along to our Pride Village at West Lothian College, Livingston to soak up the carnival atmosphere and join us for a fun filled day of marching, guest speakers, live entertainment and much more.

The pride village will be open from 11.00am, so that you can browse the information stalls and stock up on all Pride essentials (flags, whistles, garlands etc) prior to the march. All participants are encouraged to dress up, bring along their own banners etc, to ensure we have a colourful West Lothian Pride.

Programme of Events

  • 12:00 Mr Fabulous is live on stage to get the party started

  • 12:30 Speeches by Jo Clifford, Stefan Hoggan and West Lothian Council representative

  • 12:50 Pre-march safety briefing

  • 12:55 Rendevzous at college main entrance for start of the march

  • 13:00 March commences at the college main entrance and will pass through the town centre

  • 14:00 March arrives back at the college

  • 14:05 Background music from Scene Radio within the entertainment marquee and various stalls open

  • 14:15 The Dignities

  • 14:40 Feels like Thursday

Please note that the running times for the event are approximate and the line up maybe subject to change.

This is an outdoor open air event so please dress according to the weather conditions and please don't forget your sunscreen should the sun make an appearance.

Pride Village and the surrounding areas are alcohol free zones – please do not bring alcohol to the event.

The College Grounds are smoke free, please only smoke cigarettes and e-cigarettes in the designated smoking areas which are clearly signposted.

West Lothian Pride is a dog friendly event, owners should keep dogs on a lead at all times and ensure any dog fouling is lifted and placed within the litter bins provided. A number of dog bowls will be placed throughout the Pride village to ensure thirsty dogs can get a drink.

West Lothian Pride will have something for everyone, with kids zone including bouncy castle, funfair rides, face painting and Balloon Modeller , live music and entertainment, information and merchandise stalls, key speakers, quiet zone, fresh food and drink, raffle and Dogs Trust will be onsite to keep all pride dogs and their owners entertained.

Accessibility – Pride Village

  • Disabled parking is located within the main car park close to the entrance

  • All outdoor areas have level access

  • Automatic doors and an accessible toilet are located within the building we have been allocated

  • A quiet/safe space will be provided

  • Gender Neutral Toilets are available

  • Baby changing facilities are available

1. What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By Car

From the North, East and West

Enter Livingston off Junction 3 of the M8 Motorway. Follow the A899 (dual carriageway) for Livingston Centre (approximately 2 miles). Exit at Livingston Centre (previously Almondvale Centre). The College is signposted from the first roundabout.

From the South (either East or West on the A71)

Exit at the roundabout for Livingston onto the A899 (dual carraigeway) for Livingston Centre. Exit at the first slip road (clearly signposted as Town Centre). At the first roundabout exit left, following the College signs.


Limited parking will be available at West Lothian College until 10.45am. For safety reasons no parking will be permitted within the college grounds after 10.45am. All cars must be off the premises no later than 8:15pm as the car park barrier will be locked after this time. Alternate free parking a short distance away, is available at Livingston Football Stadium, Almondvale Stadium Road, Livingston, EH54 7DN or alternate paid parking is available in Livingston Centre.

By Bus

There are frequent services from both Glasgow and Edinburgh to Livingston Bus Station in the town centre, just a short walk from the College.

By Train

Trains run regularly to both Livingston North and Livingston South train stations. Livingston North station is on the Edinburgh Waverley - Bathgate Line, while Livingston South station is on the Edinburgh Waverley - Glasgow Central Line. Frequent bus services operate from both stations to Livingston town centre, a short walk from the College.

Drop Off Zone

The drop off zone is the turning circle at the college entrance which will be open until 10:45am, after this time this area will be closed for safety reasons.

2. Will there be any food available at the event?

Yes. Mobile catering food vendors will be on-site from 11:00am - 6:30pm, vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

3. Will there be any drinks available?

Yes. There are a selection of vending machines within the cafeteria area and the main building reception.

4. Will there be alcohol available?

No. Unfortunately, West Lothian Pride is a "dry" event, however, there are bars nearby.

5. Can we bring alcohol with us?

No. See answer to Question 4.

6. Where is the nearest cashpoint?

There are cash points just a short walk away on Almondvale Boulevard and near McDonald.
