The four West of England councils – Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire would like to invite you to help shape the emerging Joint Spatial Plan and Joint Transport Study by attending the Boosting Affordable Housing Delivery Workshop on Thursday 1 December 2-4.30pm at MShed, Bristol.
We are working together to produce a Joint Spatial Plan and a Joint Transport Study exploring where 105,000 new homes, employment, infrastructure and the required transport links could be built over the next 20 years.
This workshop will present the scale of the affordable challenge and explore ow to boost delivery and will be chaired by Nick Horne – Chief Executive of Knightstone Housing and member of the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board.
The workshop will cover:
• How can we close the affordable housing delivery gap to a level that meets needs?
• What are the practical difficulties and consequences of boosting market housing delivery above historic levels?
• Will the national policy focus on low cost home ownership deliver adequate solutions for first time buyers and what impact will this have on traditional affordable housing delivery?
• What are the potential solutions?
Please come prepared to discuss these questions at the workshop:
