Colin MacDonald is the Safety and Operations Manager for Scottish Football Association and is Safety Officer on Match Days at Hampden Park as well as being responsible for Security matters for National Teams.

Colin is a Chartered Member of IOSH, having worked in health and safety for 19 years, 15 of which have been in major events with Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council, Fairhurst and the Scottish FA.

Colin has worked in safety planning and delivery roles including London 2012 Olympics, Commonwealth Games 2014, Ryder Cups and Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 as the Security Officer for the Scotland National Team.

Colin will look at the history of safety within stadia, previous disasters and how safety has evolved within stadiums as a result of the previous disasters and lessons learned.

This will evolve into current and emerging threats, risks and what the stadium can do to try and mitigate these issues.
