What is West Yorkshire Mayor’s Question Time?
West Yorkshire Mayor’s Question Time is an opportunity to meet the Mayor, Tracy Brabin and ask her a question about regional issues that affect your community.
You can ask about anything that falls under the Mayor’s control. Her responsibilities include:
- Transport (buses, rail, mass transit, connectivity, walking and cycling)
- Housing and regeneration
- Planning and finance
- Economy (skills, business support, region's investment and growth)
- Climate, place and environment
As well as the functions of the Police and Crime Commissioner, supported by an appointed Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Alison Lowe OBE, who will also be in attendance at the event. You can read more about the Mayor’s responsibilities here.
You’ll also hear about how the Mayor's pledges are progressing and future plans for West Yorkshire.
To participate, it is necessary to book a ticket (free).
All ticket holders will be subject to a photo ID check and security search of any bags or carried items. Bags over A4 size are not allowed.
Please be advised that an official photographer/filmmaker will be present at the event and photos/videos may also be shared publicly after the event, make yourself know to a team member if you do not wish to feature.

Doors open at 18:00. You will need to be seated by 18:20 for a prompt start at 18:30.
Booking tickets and submitting a question
Tickets and questions must be booked and submitted in advance. This is so that we can ensure that the venue is prepared for all ticketholders and that the event runs smoothly.
The questions submitted will be reviewed and shortlisted by the independent host who will ensure that the questions cover a broad range of topics. We encourage you to submit your question as early as possible so that the host has time to fully consider it before shortlisting the questions that will feature at the event. If time permits, there may be a possibility to ask a question on the night too.
You can book a ticket up to 23:30 on the day before the event.You can also book a ticket and ask your question by calling Metroline 0113 245 7676, they will take your details and a member of the Events Team will call you back to book your ticket.
Entry requirements
All visitors wishing to enter the event will be subject to a photo ID check and security search of any bags or carried items. The search aims to ensure that no prohibited items are either deliberately or accidentally brought into the building. Please familiarise yourself with the Admissions Policy prior to the event.
How the questions are chosen?
All questions submitted during registration are reviewed and shortlisted by the independent host who will ensure that the questions cover a broad range of topics, based on the Mayor's responsibilities. The host chooses between 10-12 questions.
If time permits, there may be a possibility to ask a question on the night too.

Accessibility
We want the Mayor's Question Time events to be accessible for all and for everyone to feel welcome and included at our events. There is no typical Mayor's Question Time attendee and we recognise that everyone attending our events has different needs.A British Sign Language interpreter will be available at this event.
All venues are checked for accessibility beforehand. When registering for the event you are given the chance to tell us about any access requirements which may affect your experience at the event. We will use the information provided and try to accommodate your needs.
We are also be happy to provide information about the event to allow you to plan your day for maximum comfort, including but not limited to: closest accessible transport stations, seating arrangements, any refreshments provided or where refreshments may be available nearby, content e.g. flashing images or high volume, specific timings and when an event is expected to finish.

We only gather the minimum amount of information to ensure a smooth-running event. This includes your name, postcode, email, phone contact and if you have any special access requirements that we need to be aware of in advance.
