Event description
In anticipation of the final 'Visual Communion Symposium', A+C are hosting a number of short tours and celebrations of the Eucharist.

About this Event

Please join us for a tour and Eucharist in Westminster Cathedral

Tuesday 26 November. 4pm ticketed tour followed by 5.30pm un-ticketed Vespers and Solemn Sung Mass. Westminster Cathedral, St Francis Street, London SW1.

Celebrant Fr John Scott; Tour led by Maria Cristina White de Cruz.

One of London's finest buildings, this extraordinary neo-Byzantine cathedral emerges out of Victoria Street's chrome and glass offices with staggering effect. Completed in 1903, John Betjeman called it ‘a masterpiece in striped brick and stone’ and the interior does not disapoint. Internal buttresses, vaults and domes are cased in marble and gold mosaics created by devotees of the Arts and Crafts movement. Visitors will descover relics of Saint Edmund of Canterbury, altars, crucifixes, and side chapels in keeping with the style of Northern Italy.

Marina Cristina White da Cruz is an art historian and lecturer who sits on the Art and Architecture Committee of Westminster Cathedral.

Please note the 'tickets' for this event will be treated as a donation with £5 going to Westminster Cathedral and £5 to A+C to cover administrative costs.
