Sayuri Ichida is a Japanese artist and photographer based in Margate. Her work explores impermanence, loss, and identity through photography, printmaking, and installation. After more than a decade in commercial photography, she completed an MA in Photography Arts at the University of Westminster in 2022. She received the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards 5 in 2024 and has exhibited internationally. Her current project examines Japan’s population decline and will tour across the UK in 2026. Sayuri will be joined by writer, Dr Lucy Soutter
