Description

Visit librarians in the wild!

Find out more about working in libraries in local government and further education with a visit to Weston Library (co-located with other Council services) and Weston College's new Library Plus facility in the Winter Gardens.

Programme:

3.30 – 4.45pm Weston Library (Town Hall, Walliscote Grove Road, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1UJ)

5.15 – 6.30pm Weston College (Winter Gardens, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1AJ)

This event is aimed at those new to library and information work, considering library careers or wanting to find out more about the information professions. It enables attendees to gain skills in:

Knowledge transfer/organisational learning (PKSB 2.5)

Knowledge sharing and collaboration (PKSB 2.7)


Access information

Weston Library at the Town Hall is fully accessible. Entry is via a long ramp, inside the library is on a flat level on a single floor. Guide and companion dogs may be taken anywhere on site.

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are a number of public car parks within walking distance of the first venue, including in Carlton Street (approximately 1 minute's walk away). Time limited parking for Blue Badge holders is available near the entrance to the Town Hall.


How do I travel between libraries?

It takes approximately 7 minutes to walk between libraries, over a mostly flat route.
