Description

Thursday 24th August - Weston Park, Shropshire

Set amidst 1,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland, Weston Park is the former home of the Earls of Bradford. The House boasts an internationally significant collection of furniture and many famous paintings, including works by Van Dyck, Gainsborough, Lely and Stubbs. Take a stroll through the beautiful gardens and ‘Capability’ Brown’s Pleasure Grounds which include woodland walks, lakes and follies.
The Granary Art Gallery is open daily from 11am to 4pm and features monthly selling exhibitions by acclaimed artists from across the UK.

For our lunch we have the Granary Grill, Deli and Cafe

Today a ‘Behind the Scenes Tours’ has been arranged. These tours offer an intriguing glimpse of parts of the House not normally open to the public. Who were the staff and where did they live and work? How did the great house operate in the Victorian times when the 3rd Earl and his family would throw huge house parties? The tours also give an insight into the work of the Weston Park Foundation who are charged with the conservation of the House and its magnificent collection.

Timings: Leave Ross on Wye 9:00am, Hereford 9:30am, Leominster 10:15am.
Depart at 5pm and travel back to
Leominster 6:30pm, Hereford 7pm and Ross on Wye at 7:20pm.

Cost: £39 per person and includes all travel costs, entry to house park and gardens as well as a behind the scenes tour.
