Event description

Description

We're delighted to release tickets for the Weston Supper Club Burns Night Special on Friday January 19. The event sees Weston Supper Club host - MasterChef critic William Sitwell - create a special Burns Night Dinner (just a few days before its official date of January 25) with London-based Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild, whisky-maker Oliver Chilton of Elixir Distillers and wine expert Nik Darlington of Red Squirrel.

Mac & Wild began its journey as a Scottish street food sensation, serving up one of Scotland's finest exports, wild game. Seven years on, Mac & Wild continues to feed Londoners with some of the wildest, most delicious meat in the world, along with a carefully selected variety of seasonal Scottish produce from handpicked suppliers and producers from the Highlands.

From a market stall on Whitecross Street, to a pop-up on Charlotte Street, Mac & Wild now have two permanent restaurants in London, Mac & Wild Fitzrovia, located in the West End, on Great Titchfield Street (opened September 2015) and Mac & Wild Devonshire Square (opened November 2016), ideally located in the heart of the city of London, just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station.

The restaurant business was founded by Andy Waugh and Calum Mackinnon. Andy hails from just north of Inverness andt he majority of Mac & Wild's meat is sourced from Andy's family game-butchering business Ardgay Game. Calum, meanwhile, made his name north of the border on the bar scene in Aberdeen and Edinburgh, Mac & Wild aim to bring to London the best of Scotland's produce, served in true Highland style and spirit.

Our collaboration with Mac & Wild will see the best of Scotland's produce served in true Highland style and spirit. Speaking of which we have also teamed up with Whisky-maker Oliver Chilton of Elixir Distillers. His unique approach to sourcing and marrying casks from some of Scotland’s finest distilleries has led to the creation of the Port Askaig range of delicious Islay single malts, and the exceptional single cask and small batch bottlings of the Single Malts of Scotland range.

Throughout the evening you will experience some truly unique bottlings from both ranges and we can guaranteed you’ll leave with a bit of your heart dedicated to single malt scotch whisky.

But there won't just be incredible whisky livening up our palates and spirits. As ever, our brilliant wine partner Nik Darlington of Red Squirrel has created a wine menu to match each delicious course.

The evening promises to be a wonderfully convivial night of Scottish food, drink and tradition. There’s a delicious aperitif and canapes too. Tickets, which include the equivalent of a bottle of wine per person, glasses of whisky and fine water from San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, are just £86.25 for this sought-after dining experience.

Canapes and an aperitif will be served from 7pm and guests will then make their way to the communal tables.

Drinks are served from 7pm, for seating at 7.30pm sharp and the dinner ends at 10.30pm.
