Seals and Seascape Walkabout with Joshua Burch
Horsey Gap, Horsey Beach, Great Yarmouth. NR29 4EQ.
9am - 12pm or 1pm - 4pm, Friday 9th December 2016
Join us as we take a walk around the beautiful Horsey Beach just in time to see the seals with their newborn pups. With support and insight from professional photographer and Manfrotto Ambassador, Joshua Burch, Friends of Horsey Seals volunteer, Peter Ansell, and Wex Event Leader, Dibs McCallum, you will gain the opportunity to capture stunning moments between nurturing mothers and their pups, in addition to the captivating seascape of Horsey Beach and views from the dunes.
It’s a day all about celebrating nature, photography, learning new tricks, gaining tips and meeting likeminded photographers, so book your place now to avoid disappointment.
In terms of kit we recommend 70-300mm lens, a 24-70mm lens, a tripod, plenty of memory cards, spare batteries and of course your camera! But don’t worry if you don’t have everything on the list, this event is for photographers of all abilities and as much about trying something new as pushing your kit to new levels.
Please also dress in warm clothes for the winter weather, and bear in mind that there are some steep hills and steps to climb, so wear comfortable shoes and bring along some refreshments if you like.
Please arrive at our meeting point - Horsey Gap Car Park - 10 minutes before your selected session to ensure a prompt start. The postcode for the car park is NR29 4EF. Parking is available on a Pay & Display basis.

What is a Walkabout?
After a hugely successful first year we are repeating our Walkabout programme in 2016 and making it even bigger and better.
Walkabouts offer you the opportunity to get out and about with your camera, meet up with your local photographic community and learn a few new skills whilst you’re at it. Every month, the Wex team will be at a new venue with a different lead photographer, focusing on a different subject with a unique set of challenges. Walkabouts are all about enjoying and developing your photographic hobby in a relaxed, informal environment.
Unlike our photography workshops, Wex Walkabouts are completely informal, have no minimum group size and are not dependent on your ability or gear – wherever possible, we will bring along a range of kit you can borrow. All you need is your DSLR or compact system camera and some clothing suitable for the great outdoors! There are no specific steps or learning outcomes – the walkabouts will give you the challenge of a new environment and a new subject, all supported by an experienced pro photographer.
Regardless of your skill level or kit, Wex Walkabouts are for you – whether you want to try something new or just meet other likeminded enthusiasts!
