WHAT'S GOING ON?
On Sunday 5th October, the WFTDA Open Division will officially kick off with its first sanctioned game: Bristol Roller Derby All-Stars vs Wiltshire Roller Derby.
To top off a day of derby BRD Bees will be taking on the other BRD - Bridgend.
WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
12pm - Doors open
1pm - First whistle - Wiltshire OTA vs Bristol All Stars
3pm - First whistle - Bristol Bees vs Bridgend Roller Derby
WHAT IS ROLLER DERBY?
Roller derby is a full contact sport played on quad skates. Two teams skate round a track and try to score points against other. The jammer, the player with the star, scores points by getting past and lapping blockers on the opposite team. It's one point per person. The team with the most points, wins!
THIS SOUNDS GREAT, HOW DO I GET A TICKET?
Right here! Tickets are £8 or two for £12. Advance ticket sales end at 4pm on Saturday 4th October. On-the-door tickets are £10 so get in early!
Kids under 12 go free.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Train - The sports centre is a 5-minute walk from Chippenham train station and trains run direct from Bristol Temple Meads.
Car - A pay-and-display car parking is available on site.
