Description

Mae llawer o’r disgyblion mwyaf agored i niwed a mwyaf heriol yn treulio llawer o'u diwrnod ysgol gyda chynorthwywyr dysgu a disgwylir i'r cynorthwywyr hynny ennyn diddordeb y disgyblion yn eu gwersi a'u cynorthwyo i gwblhau eu gwaith. Mae hyn yn dasg hynod o anodd.

Mae Partneriaeth Ymgeisio’n Ehangach Gogledd a Chanolbarth Cymru wedi cyllido'r dyddiau Hyfforddiant-Mewn-Swydd (HMS) canlynol ar ddydd Gwener 9 a 30 Mehefin 2017 * ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth sy'n RHAD AC AM DDIM i gynorthwywyr dysgu ysgolion uwchradd yng Ngheredigion a Phowys - Ymwybyddiaeth Ymlyniad a gweithio gyda Disgyblion Agored i Niwed.

Caiff yr HMS hwn ei gynllunio a'i draddodi gan Sharon a Kate o What About Me? Hyfforddiant - rhyngddynt mae ganddynt 30 mlynedd o brofiad dysgu; mae Sharon wedi cynnal uned ymddygiad mewn ysgol prif ffrwd ac wedi gweithio mewn Uned Cyfeirio Disgyblion yn ogystal â bod yn ofalwr maeth am 15 blynedd; mae Kate wedi bod yn arweinydd pwnc, wedi bod â chyfrifoldeb bugeiliol yn CA4 ac wedi gweithio 1:1 gyda disgyblion agored i niwed a disgyblion wedi'u gwahardd.

Yn ystod y diwrnod, bydd y cynrychiolwyr yn ystyried:

Pa ymddygiadau sy'n peri fwyaf o anhawster iddynt ac achosion posib yr ymddygiadau hynny

Pa effaith a gaiff trawma, camdriniaeth ac esgeulustod ar ymddygiad a datblygiad ymenyddol

Sut y gall cyflwr emosiynol disgybl effeithio ar eu haddysg

Ymddygiad i geisio sylw a chyfathrebu di-eiriau

Datblygu perthynas ac ymddiriedaeth

Strategaethau sydd wedi’u treialu a’u profi i ymdrin ag ymddygiad heriol.

Mae'r sesiwn hon yn rhyngweithiol ac anogir y cyfranwyr i fod yn onest am yr heriau maent yn eu hwynebu - ein nod yw bod pob cyfrannwr yn gadael yn teimlo'n fwy hyderus ac wedi'i harfogi â strategaethau i gynorthwyo'r disgyblion maent yn eu cefnogi. Caiff yr hyfforddiant ei gyflwyno yn Saesneg gyda deunydd ysgrifenedig ar gael yn Gymraeg neu Saesneg.

Many of the most vulnerable and challenging students spend a lot of their school day with teaching assistants who are expected to help them engage with their lessons and complete their work. This is an incredibly difficult task.

Reaching Wider Partnership has funded an INSET training days on Friday 9th and 30th June 2017 * in Aberystywth University which is FREE to secondary school teaching assistants in Ceredigion and Powys - Attachment Awareness and working with Vulnerable Pupils

This INSET is designed and delivered by Sharon and Kate from What About Me? Training - with a combined teaching experience of 30 years, Sharon has run the behaviour unit in a mainstream school and worked in a Pupil Referral Unit as well as being a foster carer for 15 years; Kate has been a subject leader, held pastoral responsibility in KS4 and worked 1:1 with vulnerable and excluded pupils.

During the day delegates will consider:

What behaviours cause them most difficulties and the possible causes of those behaviours

What affect trauma, abuse and neglect can have on behaviour and brain development

How the emotional state of a student impacts on their learning

Attention seeking behaviour and non-verbal communication

Building relationships and trust

Practical, tried and tested strategies to help cope with challenging behaviour.

The session is interactive and delegates are encouraged to be honest about the challenges they face - our aim is that each delegate leaves feeling more confident and equipped with strategies to help the students they support. The training will be delivered in English with written materials available in English or Welsh.

* Please only choose one of the sessions.
