Event description
International symposium to mark the retirement of Professor David Walters from Cardiff University.

About this Event

This symposium not only marks the retirement of Professor David Walters but also the contribution that he has made to understanding the politics of occupational health and safety (OHS) over a period of more than thirty years. It brings together leading international scholars, policy makers, advisers, activists, analysts, professional practitioners and trade unionists at national, European and global levels, all of whom David has engaged with over the years, on the topics that have been central to his research and publications. It will, therefore, provide a forum well-placed to deliver a global perspective on current problems and potential solutions.

The symposium aims to address the key issues and contexts that influence the impact of knowledge on action in protecting the safety, health and well-being of people at work. It also brings together researchers, trade unionists, OHS practitioners and policy makers and provides an opportunity to establish useful new networks for future collaborations.
