Professor Mike Ferguson, of the University of Dundee, specialises in researching parasitic diseases, like human African sleeping sickness and malaria, and helps to run a Drug Discovery Unit. In this lecture, Professor Ferguson will explain what he and his colleagues are doing to translate fundamental discovery science into new, better and safer medicines for infectious diseases and to tackle the spread of drug-resistant infections, which is a global challenge.
