Event description

Description

The third year for many students is their final year at university. It builds on the previous two years with them requiring new and existing skills to be deployed at the same time to deliver the breadth of work. How can you ensure effective, progressive skills development? How should third year students be supported in their information literacy and study skills?

If you want to start afresh with your thinking, then this workshop is for you! You will get to hear about different approaches taken at Aston and De Montfort by librarians, learning development staff and students to help kick start your thinking. You will then be working with other participants to map the third year student journey, consider key student skills, and start your own action plan to initiate change at your university for the third year library and study skills experience.

Session leads are:

• Clare Langman, Information Specialist, Aston University

• Ceri Laing, Senior Assistant Librarian, De Montfort University

• Samantha Jordan, Graduate Teaching Assistant & PhD student

• TBC, Teaching Fellow, Learning Development Centre, Aston University
