Event description
How Do You Find That Purpose To Do Things Differently and Create The Change You Want To See?

About this Event

Our world is changing faster than ever and systems are breaking down; new advancements in technology, with societal and political structures being destroyed and reconstructed; some for the better and some that are fully destructive and catastrophic.

Each one of us has a purpose to make some change in a way that can contribute to make this world a better place. How do you find that purpose to do things differently and create the change you want to see?

Join Jo Wood and Jarvis Smith for a thrilling talk on how we can find our true inner purpose and create intent for the planet and the community we live in. How can you live your life more authentically and consciously? We will talk about how you can use your own skills to mitigate the climate crisis, how can you use your personal skill set to do good and how can you live your purpose?

If you are already a leader, how can you be more courageous and driven to make effective change? If you are lost in how to make change, this will be the workshop for you.

Join us in this safe online collaborative workshop and learn together on how to do things differently, whilst connected to our own inner calling.

The Be The Alchemy series is a new breed of workshop. The format of each event will start with a 40 minute conversation between two experts. During this conversation, they will raise a question on this particular topic. This question will then be presented to all participants, who will be sent out into breakout groups for 15 minutes to discuss this question. This will allow people to make connections with fellow change-makers and use diverse thinking to make a change.

All participants will be pulled back into the main session to create an Alchemy Manifesto with all of the groups participating in an action plan on how they can take action in their lives or in their community. These events are all about taking action and transforming the world that we live in.

About the Speakers

Jarvis Smith : media owner of My Green Pod, founder P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards and singer/songwriter with The Phoenix Rose.

My Green Pod is the UK's leading independent ethical lifestyle media company producing a magazine, website and the Awards.

Jarvis co-founded and runs My Green Pod with his wife Katie Hill, now the UK’s largest ethical lifestyle magazine supplement. Its distributed with the Guardian to over 6 million ethical consumers (print & digital distributors include Yeo Valley, Octopus Energy, Weleda, ILovefreegle.org, Soil Association and many more) and mygreenpod.com is an online hub that celebrates green living, full of inspirational news, ethical HERO products and a marketplace.

Jarvis also founded the UK’s leading sustainability Awards now in it’s 10th year: P.E.A (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards.

Jo Wood: as a young girl, Jo saw her mother working as an Avon lady, which inspired her interest in fashion and beauty.

At 16 she left school to become a model, achieving almost immediate success after being crowned the The Sun’s Face of ’72. She worked until she met Ronnie and after a few years together became his PA, as well as styling him for stage and photo shoots.

Her love of the organic lifestyle came from a health scare in 1989, which changed the way she wanted to live. Starting with the food she ate – she learnt everything she could about organic farming – her passion for all things organic quickly turned to products she used on her skin.

Struggling to find organic and natural beauty products that not only looked great, but that actually performed on the skin, Jo took matters into her own hands and launched Jo Wood Organics at Harvey Nichols in 2006, which then went on to launch in USA and Canada.

Jo was on a one woman mission to show the beauty industry that organic products could be luxurious, sophisticated, and decadent and that there were other consumers like her who wanted more of a choice.

Having taken a break from business in 2009 for personal reasons, she’s now back to relaunch Jo Wood Organics with two sensual and exotic fragrances, Amka and Usiku, across Eau de Toilette, Body Oil and Candle products.
