About this Event
Jonty is a tenant and manager of a 75ha organic 'regenerative' farm in the Cotswolds working with his wife, Mel. As tenants of the National Trust on the Sherborne Park Estate they aim to deliver quality product and a thriving environment with particular focus on traditional breed cattle (Herefords), sheep (Cotswolds), farmland birds and species rich grassland (under OELS/HLS). They sell 'pasture fed' beef, lamb and pork directly to the consumer, run a small livery enterprise and offer farm educational visits to local schools, colleges and interest groups. Jonty and Mel also offer bespoke tipi weddings in their wildflower meadows, sell honey and organic veg.
Jonty is also General Manager of FarmED, which aims to promote and accelerate the transition towards regenerative farming and sustainable food systems by providing inspirational education, innovative research, practitioner led knowledge exchange and personal development opportunities. FarmED provides an inspiring platform to stimulate debate and inspire a diverse range of audiences, from school children to farmers and rural entrepreneurs as well as any individual or organisation with an interest in agroecology, food and the countryside.
