WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DIE? PLANNING FOR ONGOING CARE AND ADVOCACY
Overview
HOW DO WE ENSURE OUR LOVED ONES CONTINUE TO LIVE FULFILLING, SUPPORTED LIVES WHEN WE’RE NO LONGER HERE TO SPEAK UP FOR THEM?
This webinar explores how families can plan for enduring care and advocacy, ensuring that their loved ones continue to live meaningful lives long after parents or carers are no longer able to provide day-to-day support. The session draws on two successful and well-established models: Reserve Power, a privately funded initiative, and KLASP, a family-led advocacy scheme run by the charity Kith & Kids.
Participants will hear directly from families who are already part of these ongoing support networks, as well as from the advocates employed through both projects. Together, they will share how these models provide lasting security, continuity, and genuine friendship for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
The evening will offer practical guidance and inspiration- helping participants explore whether joining an existing scheme or setting up their own could be the right step toward securing their loved one’s future.
