What if? Why Business Continuity?
Tue 16 May 2017, 08:15 – 10:30 BST
Business disruptive incidents occur every day. This winter Herefordshire has seen storms bring travel disruption, power outages and flooding. Cyber-attacks and data breaches are increasingly reported in the media but what if one of these events affected you? Are you sure the unexpected won’t at best disrupt your business or, at worst close your business?
Herefordshire Business Continuity Forum (HBCF), on behalf of Herefordshire Council, have engaged the help of industry experts in business continuity and IT to deliver a programme of events that will help you improve the resilience of your business. Completely free of charge, this initiative aims to ensure that local businesses develop a resilience to unexpected events which in turn will support the resilience of the communities we live in.
Built around ‘The 5 R’s’: Risk, Resilience, Response, Recovery and Reassurance. Our industry experts will guide you through the process to help you build your understanding of business continuity principles and show you how you can enhance the resilience of your business.
Cllr David Harlow, Cabinet Member Economy and Corporate Services, will be opening this introductory event, on Tuesday 16th May, that looks at the importance of having business continuity in place and how you can prepare your business for unexpected emergencies. Topics on the agenda include:
Global, national and local challenges
- The benefits of Business Continuity
- What you need to do
- The HBCF business continuity event programme 2017/18
