The Oxford Internet Institute is excited to welcome Dr Antti Ukkonen from the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
About the Talk
This talk aims to give a non-mathematical overview of recent developments in artificial intelligence, and discuss some contemporary achievements as well as applications of machine learning. I will cover basic concepts of relevant technologies at a high level, with the objective of giving the audience an idea of the actual capabilities of
state-of-the-art AI methods, such as those based on e.g. deep-learning.
Please arrive early to avoid disappointment, unclaimed seats will be given to those on the wait list 5 minutes before the event starts.
Registration will close at 12:00 the day of the event.

About the Speaker
Dr Antti Ukkonen is a data scientist at Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) with 10+ years of experience in the design of algorithms for data analysis and machine learning. He obtained his doctoral degree in 2008 from Aalto University, and has held post-docs at Yahoo! Research, as well as Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT, prior to joining FIOH in 2015.
