What is Brain Injury? Information & Training Session for Families and Carers
At Headway West Sussex we understand that families and carers do not always receive the information they need to understand what brain injury actually is, what this diagnosis means and why your loved ones behaviour and personality may have changed.
In a group setting with other families and carers you will learn to recognise and understand the physical, psychological, cognitive and executive effects of an Acquired Brain Injury. In this thorough and fact filled session you will learn why and how your loved ones brain injury is affecting their behaviour, personality and life. The session will also help you be aware of the ways your loved one can be supported to cope with those effects.
This training session is intensive and contains lots of information, it is suitable for families and carers no matter how long ago their loved ones brain injury was sustained. It is a great opportunity to meet with other people and know that you are not alone. You will also hear about the other services that Headway West Sussex offers.
PLEASE NOTE: This session is suitable for families and carers only or any non-professional supporting a brain injured person. We are running training for professionals on another date. The minimum age limit is 14 and we ask that you contact us to chat before booking under 18's on the course. The session is NOT suitable for those with a brain injury.
Please arrive for a prompt 1.30pm start, refreshments are provided. Dove Lodge is fully accessable. Please park on the road surrounding Dove Lodge, there is no parking on site.
