What is Gross Domestic Product? How ONS surveys feed into GDP (Tfd)
Thu 6 April 2017, 14:45 – 15:45 BST
Arguably the best-known national accounts statistic, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the primary indicator of economic activity within the UK. When external commentators describe the growth or decline of the economy, it is the change in GDP to which they refer. Estimates of GDP depend on many data sources including a number of ONS surveys, such as the Living Costs and Food survey.
