Introduction to Research and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)
The 'Introduction to Research' programme is for members of the public who want to provide a 'lay' perspective to improve Patien and Public Involvement (PPI) in Research. For example, this may include being involved in the design of research, being a member of a steering or advisory group, reviewing wriiten resources or sharing research findings with other members of the public.
Over three sessions, the programme provides relevant knowledge and information to enable participants to develop their understanding of the research process. It will also be an opportunity to consider the differnt levels of involvement and engagement and in addition, will enable individuals to develop skills and effective strategies to be an active member of the research team.
