About this event
It is widely accepted that we face an international climate change challenge. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) declared that human-caused CO2 emissions must fall by almost half by 2030 to keep global heating below the 1.5°C limit which countries agreed to strive for in 2015.
At COP26, starting 1st November 2021, the international community will discuss emissions reduction targets to keep within the 1.5°C limit and finalise policies and rules to achieve this. What is the most sustainable way for the international community to overcome the climate change challenge?
The IPCC reports that behaviour change and demand-side management can significantly reduce emissions. How do we sustainably bring about behavioural change? What kind of cultural values will influence the demand to reduce our carbon footprint? Where will these values come from? Join us in conversation to unpack all of these questions and explore ‘What is the role of culture in tackling climate change’?
