Event description
Come listen to survivors of slavery who are speaking out on their own terms and find out how you can support survivors in your community.

About this Event

Stories of modern slavery in the news can give inaccurate ideas about what it’s like to be a survivor of slavery. This panel of (3-4) survivors will open your eyes to new ways of seeing and thinking about modern slavery. Reporters often report the details of what happened to someone during their enslavement. But what about their experiences after they have exited slavery? Come listen to survivors of slavery who are speaking out on their own terms and find out how you can get involved to support survivors in your community.

Refreshments will be available after the event.

This is a free event, however donations of £5 are welcome. All donations contribute to the ongoing work of Survivor Alliance to develop local networks of survivors, accordingly supporting and empowering individuals with lived experience of slavery and human trafficking

This panel discussion follows shortly after a workshop that Survivor Alliance UK is hosting from 9:30 - 15:30 - Beyond Helping: Empowering Survivors of Slavery.

With thanks to our partners:

Survivor Alliance UK CIC, Greater Nottingham Modern Slavery Forum and Anti-Slavery International.
