Event description

Description

The Imagineers are aged 9 to 12 years old and are supported by Children’s Parliament as part of a programme commissioned by Aberdeen City Council. The children have influenced how Children’s Services and Education are planned. Their work is reported online: https://bit.ly/ImaginingAberdeen

But now Imagineers want to have a bigger impact on the City.

2018 is the Year of Children and Young People and the Imagineers want to support public bodies and practitioners across Aberdeen to understand what is important to children. The Imagineers want adults to consider what they can do to understand and act on what children need.

The Imagineers are inviting adults who work in a range of sectors to come to an Imagineer session. Adults will leave with an understanding of the idea of human dignity and children’s human rights. Being part of the Imagineer session will help individuals and organisations to meet their duties to engage meaningfully with children on all aspects of wellbeing and what services provide for children. Of course, Imagineer sessions are never dull. The children have designed the session and will make sure everyone is able to enjoy it and learn something from it. Later sessions will involve colleagues from these sectors: Health, Emergency Services, Sport + Leisure and Housing.
