Event description
With Brexit imminent and another indyref likely, what's in store for Scotland? Come and hear Murray Foote's views and join the discussion.

About this Event

Murray Foote joined the Daily Record in 1991, becoming deputy editor in 2000 and finally editor in February 2014. Just six months into the job he was responsible for steering the paper through the choppy constitutional waters of the Scottish independence referendum. He was responsible for commissioning The Vow, a promise of further devolution to Holyrood displayed on the front page of the Daily Record in the days before the referendum.

Having stood down as Record Editor in March 2018, Murray subsequently declared publicly his support for Scottish Independence.

He previously worked for the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Aberdeen Evening Express, the Glasgow Evening Times, Scottish Daily Mail and the Scottish Daily Mirror.A native of Dundee and a lifetime supporter of Dundee United – we all have our crosses to bear – Murray has been married to Susan for 27 years and they live in Glasgow with their two daughters, aged 21 and 16.

Murray's talk will be MC'd by Dr Philippa Whitford MP, and there will be ample opportunity for questions afterwards.

Scotland's Future - Forum is a non-profit venture. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to South Ayrshire Foodbanks.
