Description

Annual Conference 2017 - The Labour Party

Since last year’s referendum a whole lexicon has emerged to describe the myriad of ways to leave the European Union: will Brexit be hard or soft, clean, chaotic, or even red, white and blue? Is membership of - or tariff-free access to – the single market to be prioritised over an end to free movement? Is Britain to remain part of the customs union? How will the Northern Irish border be settled in a way that doesn’t threaten the peace process? And what kind of deal will satisfy a divided public? Join Yvette Cooper MP and UK in a Changing Europe, to discuss how the Party should respond to these challenges.

Chair:

George Eaton - Political Editor, New Statesman

Speakers:

Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP - Former Shadow Home Secretary

Rt Hon Diane Abbott MP - Shadow Home Secretary

Anand Menon - Director, the UK in a Changing Europe
