NHS Lothian is one of Scotland's largest and most complex health boards serving around 900,000 people across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Alongside its core healthcare responsibilities, it plays a significant role in advancing sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals. The organisation is actively working to reduce its carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency across its estate, and promote sustainable models of care. It also contributes to social value through inclusive employment, community health initiatives, and partnerships that address health inequalities and long-term wellbeing.
