Overview
This webinar explains the history and importance of COP, and the key policies and agreements established to help tackle climate change.
2025 marks the 30th year that the UNFCC Conference of the Parties (COP) is taking place. This year, COP 30 is being hosted by Belem in Brazil. COP 30 is already quite controversial due to the construction of a four-lane highway that goes directly through the Amazon Rainforest. This event aims to translate to the public what is happening at COP – from explaining the science of climate change (a summary from the IPCC report) to the history and importance of policy agreements, such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement.
