The Story

What the Gods Left Behind

A powerful new ensemble production from Oldham Theatre Workshop

Hidden in an abandoned storage facility lies a strange collection of boxes — each packed with echoes of forgotten lives, fractured memories… and the traces of something ancient.

When a group of young people stumble upon the unit, they begin to uncover the truth: these aren’t ordinary stories. They belong to the lost children of the gods.

What the Gods Left Behind is a mythic, magical, and moving new play that weaves together bold characters, interlocking stories, and a ticking clock

Funny, fierce, and filled with heart, this play blends modern themes of identity, care, and memory with the timeless power of mythology. Featuring a mix of poetic storytelling, big ensemble moments, and deeply human drama, this is a piece about belonging, inheritance, and what we choose to keep — or leave behind.

If you’re ready to bring legends to life, uncover hidden stories, and be part of something fresh, bold, and unforgettable — this is the show for you. Don’t miss your chance to join the adventure!

We're looking for dynamic and energetic performers aged 8 - 25 for our forthcoming production of 'What the Gods Left Behind'.
