Description

Who is the training session for?

This is an introductory course for anyone who works with children or families in their paid or voluntary work, so you don't need any previous child protection/ safeguarding training. The session will also act as a spring board to accessing other training that is provided by Dudley Safeguarding Children Board (DSCB).

You will receive a DSCB certificate of attendance following receipt of your evaluation for this session.

Gain the safeguarding skills you need to act appropriately and confidently to protect the children you work with, your self and your teams.

Course content

identify what is meant by safeguarding and child abuse

name the categories of child abuse

recognise the signs and indicators of possible abuse

identify the relevant legislation and guidance that safeguards young people

identify the barriers to children and adults reporting concerns

how to respond to and report your concerns
