Event description
A workshop on the opportunities that your geography degree opens up in the world of work and for your career ahead.

About this Event

Join Dr Stephanie Wyse, Professional and Policy Manager at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), to find out why there has never been a better or more important time to study geography. Her workshop explores the benefits that geography’s knowledge, skills, techniques and approaches bring to the world of work and your career opportunities.

During the workshop, you will be encouraged to reflect on:

· The benefits of studying geography, and examples of the (many!) career pathways and options open to you

· Opportunities and challenges to consider, as you start to think about life after university

· Suggestions for stepping stones that will help you to make progress in your career

The workshop will include:

· Practical activities to help you think about the skills, knowledge and experiences you are gaining now that you might use in a future career

· Advice to help identify what sets you apart from graduates in other subjects, and how to use that to your advantage

· Tips from a professional geographer, reflecting on their career and how they use geography in their work

Lunch will be provided by the School :-)
