What Was It Like To Be A Teenager In The Sixties?
Tue 25 October 2016, 14:30 – 16:00 BST
Elizabeth Woodcraft was a teenager in 1966, when the Corn Exchange was the place to go on a Saturday night to dance to the music of the Who and Georgie Fame. When Chelmsford City Football Ground was in Central Park and the White Hart, the Spotted Dog and the Dolphin in Tindal Street, were the favourite dives for drinkers of taste. She will be talking about her latest novel Beyond the Beehive. Which follows the lives and love affairs of three young women, from a Chelmsford council estate, as they make their way through the rapidly changing world of the 1960s.
