Event description

Description

Huge progress has been made in how we talk about mental health. At the same time, the topic remains both stigmatised and difficult to communicate. Often we still struggle with basic concepts such as shame, pathologisation and narratives of victimhood, both in our personal lives and in media portrayals of mental illness.

Two publishing ventures launched this year, Anxy Magazine and Torchlight System, are aiming to stimulate new conversations around mental health, and would like to invite you to an evening of collaborative discussion on ways of talking about about mental health, how we can inscribe a better lexicon of recovery and how publishing can help people to speak openly about these difficult topics.

This event is particularly aimed at people who have an interests in publishing, media or narrative, and in mental health and illness both professionally and personally. We invite you to come along, hear some stories and perspectives, and share some of your own.

Tickets

To allow for meaningful discussion, we are limiting the available tickets to 30. If you reserve a ticket and then realise you won't be able to attend, we kindly ask you to cancel your reservation in order to allow for someone else to take your place.

How to find us

Studio KP25 is a shared studio space in Köpenicker Strasse, right opposite Manteuffelstrasse. Enter through the gate behind the bus stop on the Spree-side of the street and aim for the warehouse building that looks like a typical German "Getränkemarkt". The door is the first one on the left and blue, with a sign saying KP25 on it. The studio is on the first floor.
