About this event

Science & Tech • High Tech

Come along to find out exactly what's in store for Contin and Strathpeffer areas, while there's still time for your views to count.

This is NOT organised by SSEN, but by people who live here and will be affected by the proposals.

It's not too late to make your views known to decisoin makers.

You'll learn the precise route of the proposed overhead pylons and how the underground cable, which has been almost hidden from public awareness, will also be coming through Mid Ross and what areas will be deforested.

You'll discover the dimensions and location of the contractors' depot (it includes parking for 100 cars) and how it may impact your daily life.

You'll also find out how important it is that you make your views known. It's not too late. The deadline for submissions is 12 October.

If Highland Council reject the overhead line application, it should become the subject of a Public Inquiry.

Come along at 7pm on 10 October 2025 and find out how you can make a difference with an easily created submission and you can do this at the event if you choose.

NB If you're unable to come along at 7pm, you can drop into the hall from 6pm to 7pm that day (Friday 10 October), to find out what is planned and how you can contribute your view.
