Description

FREE TO ATTEND

The General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) is the new EU data protection regulation. It will replace the current Data Protection Act 1998. Personal data is any data which relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Good examples are e-mail addresses and mobile numbers. Any UK business that stores, uses or in any way deals with personal data must comply with the GDPR. Given all businesses have employees, customers and/or suppliers it is hard to think of a type of UK business that does not process at least some personal data and must therefore comply with the GDPR.

GDPR comes into force on 25th May 2018. It is a myth that Brexit will stop the implementation of the GDPR despite its EU origins. Therefore, we would like to ensure you know what you need to do to be ready.

Rhys Wyborn Partner from Geldards, will be giving BioCity an overview of what GDPR is, what you need to be aware of for your business and how to be prepared.

It’s a pretty dry subject, so to help we’ll be providing a free lunch to help the learning process.
