What's in a name?

In business we all know the importance of brand and how we best market our business to drive sales, raise profile and stay ahead of competitors.
Birmingham is at the heart of the West Midlands engine and is the driving force behind future growth. The West Midlands must accept Birmingham as the region's attack brand for attracting inward investment. Parochial outlooks have held the city region back for too long and the sales pitch must be Greater Birmingham.
'Second city' has become a rhetoric used all too often with another UK city always being mentioned in the same sentence. Again, in business, we would never pitch ourselves as the 'second' to anyone but shout about what we are leaders in our field, so why should this be any different when selling our great city?
