FREE training session for healthcare professionals
This half day workshop has been designed as an introduction to the benefits of using nature and outdoor environments in supporting dementia care in residential settings.
With guidance from the Dementia Core Skills Education and Training Framework (DoH) 2015, the course outcomes will support health and wellbeing, living well with dementia and promoting independence.
The course will include:
examples of research-based evidence of nature’s impact on wellbeing.
practical activities to inspire greater use of outdoors (including bringing the outdoors inside).
Useful tips for a daily dose of nature.
Group discussions around barriers and solutions.
Improve knowledge of Nature’s role in dementia care.
Increase confidence in using the outdoors.
Share solutions to common barriers.
Who should attend?
Dementia care workers, day centre workers and activity coordinators will benefit from attending this course.
