Chartered Institute of Linguists CEO John Worne will talk about what’s changing in the context for linguists in 2026 and what are the trends, themes and enduring values that are staying the same.

Speaker:

John Worne is CEO of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, the UK's Royal Charter body for linguists and languages.

Prior to CIOL, John spent two decades in senior leadership roles at the British Council, in universities and at the heart of the UK Government at the Cabinet Office. A graduate of the University of Oxford, John has lived and worked in different countries and cultures all around the world and speaks French, having spent five years living and working in Paris, France.
