About this event

Mental Toughness is more than resilience. Where resilience is our ability to get back up after a knockback or tough time, mental toughness is our ability to perform to a high standard regardless of circumstance.

With roots in sports psychology it was originally about how to perform on ‘match day’. In the business world it’s about how do we bring our best selves to challenging circumstances – like a never-ending global pandemic for instance! I work with the 4Cs model which enables people to identify where their strengths already are and how they can build on those.

The tools that we use to develop mental toughness come from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Neuro-science, Positive Psychology and Business Theory among other things.

The work I do has often been described as life changing for people as they’ve changed mindset, overcome imposter syndrome and inner sabotage or discovered a new way of being themselves.

This workshop introduces you to the concepts and models of mental toughness and why it is essential to develop mental toughness in ourselves and as a team. We will:

  • Explain the background to mental toughness and how it builds on the concept of resilience
  • Share the 4Cs model in detail with examples to enable you to assess your own mental toughness
  • Give you some core tools to enable you to develop your mental toughness

Ginger Dog founder Sarah Rudder describes herself as an adventurer in life and learning. Determined to end up as a really interesting old lady she’s as passionate about learning new things and stretching her own comfort zone as she is about supporting others to do this. A specialist in developing mental toughness she loves a challenge and is more likely to be found long distance hiking or riding her motorbike than on her sofa. She’s fascinated by confidence and self esteem, the impact this can have on our ability and how we self sabotage.
