From 2-4pm on Thursday 20 November, Leeds Trinity University will host an audience with Peter Dodd, the Commercial Director of Welcome to Yorkshire who will share an exclusive account of ‘When the Tour de France came to Yorkshire’.
In July 2014, the eyes of the world were on Yorkshire as it hosted the Grand Depart of the Tour de France - the biggest annual sporting event in the world. Winning the bid to host the Grand Depart was an enormous coup for the county that not only welcomed an unprecedented five million spectators who watched the peloton speed past, but also contributed an estimated £150m to the Yorkshire economy.
Four months on, Leeds Trinity University is proud to host an audience with Welcome to Yorkshire, the award-winning tourism agency behind Yorkshire’s successful bid to host the Grand Depart. Delegates will hear from the agency’s Commercial Director, Peter Dodd, who will share an exclusive account of the behind-the-scenes management of bringing ‘Le Tour’ to Yorkshire, along with details of its impact on the region four months on.
