Where are the Women? Revisiting the Essex Witch Trials
Date and time

Online event
Many of us know the names of the men involved in the Essex Witch Trials, but what about the women?
About this event
The women persecuted and used during the Essex Witch Trials are largely silent in the stories we know. Help find their voices!
Join University of Essex Lecturer Alison Rowlands and author of the Essex Witch Museum series Syd Moore to discover the stories of the women who were persecuted in Tendring. Research the history of your local area and take part in writing a history trail that tells the truth behind the myths.
You don't need any previous knowledge or writing experience to take part. We are looking for women to take part who live in the Tendring and Colchester area.
Workshops will take place online. We will run a walking tour of Manningtree and the surrounding towns and villages on Saturday 9 October that will be in Manningtree.
WORKSHOP DATES:
Wednesday 15 September 6.30-8.30pm (online via Zoom)
Wednesday 29 September 6.30-8.30pm (online via Zoom)
Saturday 9 October (meeting in Manningtree) time TBD
