Where I'm From

Where I'm From, is part of a multimedia heritage project that uses DNA research and digital mapping to decolonise narratives about African Caribbean ancestry and challenge the question, where are you really from? By exploring pre-colonial, colonial, and post-colonial histories, addressing gaps in Black History education and confronting stereotypes rooted in Britain’s imperial past.

Workshops will provide insights to ancestry search and encourage intergenerational conversations about heritage, with the goal of fostering deeper understanding, empathy, and pride in the UK's multicultural identity.
