Event description

Description

SONET (the LGBT+ staff network at London South Bank University) will be hosting a panel discussion about Bi visibility.

You could be forgiven for thinking that LGBT+ was in fact LGT+. Why is it that the Bisexual contingent of this vibrant group is so often bi-passed (sic) when discussing LGBT+ matters?

The Panel:

Llewys Howells is a trainee solicitor at Clyde & Co and is the admin co-ordinator for the London Bisexual Network. He is highly involved in the Clyde’s LGBT network ‘Pryde’, is on the social team for the London Gay Men’s Chorus and has also recently become a Stonewall school role model.

Kimberley Sayers is a committee member and part of the events team for the London Bisexual Network. Kimberley is an Associate in the Pensions and Incentives departments at Simmons & Simmons, and has been actively involved in both her current and previous firm’s LGBT networks. Kimberley was her college’s LGBT representative during University; her role involved arranging LGBT events, offering pastoral care, and bringing LGBT issues and interests to the attention of her college. Kimberley has represented the London Bisexual Network and top city law firms at cross-industry diversity and inclusion events.

Steve Bowman is a Senior Information Adviser here at LSBU. He has identified as Bisexual since 1969 and is (still) in a long term relationship with his wife (female) and boyfriend having been with both for over 35 years. He arranged events for Bisexuality awareness at his last University (Chichester), and is keen to promote Bisexuality (and general LGBT+) awareness here at LSBU. He joined SONET when he started at LSBU almost a year ago, and has recently become the first openly Bisexual member of the SONET Committee.

If this interests you, please come along, followed by a spot of networking and a drink with the panel and colleagues.
