SYNOPSIS

The costs of having a data science function are obvious: staff wages and system running costs are highly visible and routinely reviewed by business leadership. The returns on this investment, are less clear and harder to evaluate. Not all the benefits of a data science function are directly measurable. In this talk, i will discuss three types of benefits that a data science function could provide, and how they can be measured.
