Where Will We All Live? - "summit" for housing and benefits campaigners.
Sat 25 March 2017, 10:30 – 15:30 GMT
A regional gathering for everyone concerned about the destruction of social housing, lack of affordable homes, exploitative private-sector conditions, benefit cuts which put people at risk of homelessnessness. We invite, tenants, claimants and their supporters, housing workers, support workers, mental health workers, construction workers and all union members; advice workers, planners and policy-makers, members of anti-austerity parties and organisations - anyone concerned for their homes, service-users, jobs.
The main objective of the day is ACTION. We will have presentations to share info, and hopefully question-and-answer sessions with some of our elected representatives and council officers - but we want to involve everyone in action planning, and we'll be getting started on this on the day! So please bring your ideas, whether that's organising at work or in your neighbourhood, setting up public meetings, doing media work, organising a lobbying campaign, or something to attract attention and get the issues talked about in a more challenging way.
People are welcome to bring children, though we don't have the resources to provide a creche. The venue is wheelchair accessible. Tea and coffee provided, but bring your own food or buy from nearby shops.
